Mepron is so thick, HOW do you get it down?

Hey, my question of the day...

How you do get your Mepron down?  It's so thick and gooey, it sticks to the dosage cup and it's hard to get down.

I place it in the dosage cup and then I feel like a little anteater trying to lick the last little drop of the yellow goo from the sides of the cup.  IS there a better way?

After my dear husband was watched me attack this little dosage cup like a madman, he suggested I ask the fellow mepron users for ideas ... there has to be a better way!

   Yes the Mepron is tricky, I resorted to using a plain ole spoon out of my silver ware drawer. First I measured the amount in the dosage cup then measured on a tablespoon how much it equalled, it is wayyyyyyyyy easier with a regular spoon. Good luck!

Hi Maggie.  Mepron comes two ways--either in a large bottle that you measure out doses or in single serving packets.  Maybe the packets would be better?

Either way I always poured it or squeezed it onto a spoon, held my breath, and swallowed it fast!  It looks and has the texture of yellow construction paint!

Make sure you eat something fatty when you take it or it will not be absorbed properly.

Hey there -  I found a yellow teaspoon and calibrated it with my dosage cup to make sure they are the same.  I'm able to lick it off easily and not waste a drop.

I know I need to eat something with fat in it, but can I drink a warm beverage with it?

Hi Maggie.  I think it should be okay to drink something warm with it.  You can always call your pharmacy to ask. Just make sure you eat something fatty when you take it.

I have never had Mepron, but I would also think the syringe would be the best option. They have several types of "syringes" .. some have a bulby type end that you squeeze to get up the stuff like an eye dropper ... and others pull out and liquid comes into it as you pull back on it. I would think this would be the best way to get it out. Then when you push on it and it goes into your mouth not a drop is wasted. I don't know if the mepron would be too thick for it or not, but give it a try. :)
