What causes the burning back sensation?

Hi, I have the burning back also. Did the doxy eliminate the burning when you were able to take it? Do you have co-infections  as well? Thanks  D

Hi, my last diag. was ehrlichia. I meant to ask you, do you ever break out in little sores along the burning sensation areas? After a few days of burning, I will break out in the same spot. Strange. I will watch this post and see if someone knows what causes the burning etc. Take care  D

No sores so far. Thank God. Sounds unpleasant.

I had the same type of burning sensation - but in my chest and stomach - while on doxy. I was the same way, I really was not tolerating doxy well at all. I couldn't keep anything I ate down and between the burning sensations, fevers, night sweats, and nausea I finally decided to ask my Dr. if it would be possible to switch antibiotics. The first doctor I spoke to was very dismissive he said that doxy is "the only thing that really kills lyme, but i guess if you can't handle it I can switch you to something else" - needless to say, I switched Dr.'s. my new Dr. understood what I was dealing with and has switched me to cefuroxime. Is anyone else familiar with this/taken this for lyme? I have not had many problems on this - best of all, I am not throwing up anymore! I am tired all the time and am constantly out of breath, but I feel like this is helping. I have not had the burning sensation while on cefuroxime.
