I live daily in unbelievable foot and leg pain. In fact it's this chronic pain that finally brought about the diagnosis of the babesia in my blood. I first saw a podiatrist who sent me on to physical therapy. After 6 weeks of PT there was no improvement, so then on to a rheumatologist, new meds but no improvement, on to a neurologist for more tests, still no improvement. Finally went back to my Lymes doctor and he found the babesia.
My foot pain was so severe I used a cane because my limp was so severe. I wear a foot brace at night and that seems to help. Occasionally I wear my brace during the day and my cane.
I would describe my foot pain primarily in my heel, not the bottom but the sides of my heel. Standing very long was unbearable. When I would sit down my calf muscle would tighten up and then make my toes go pointed. As you can imagine, after being my the pointed position, I had difficultly placing pressure on my feet.
Since I've been on the Mepron/Zithro I can say I've seen some improvement.
Welcome to the forum and good luck to you.
