New PCR tests available. 15 babesia species and 20 bartonella species.

Not sure if anyone has posted this before but this lab known as clongen has PCR genetic tests for 15 species of babesia and 20 species of bartonella that have been released recently. I know that many of you have become aggravated to say the least, with igenex and the 2-3 species specific tests. You might have to call them for more info. They also have a multitude of other tests available. This lab is probably one of the only in the U.S. dedicating their own resources to figure out the genetic make-up of the morgellons infection.

Many of you may just want to sit tight for the time being. I'm not exactly sure if the 15 species babesia pcr test is out right now, if not, should be anyday now. I also heard they are working on identifying the ever popular BLO, whatever it may end up being called. It might be best to keep an eye on their website for the next 4 weeks or give them a call.

Dr. J in CT uses Clongen now for lyme western blots and mycoplasma tests (and possibly more that I'm not aware of). He mentioned that more bands often show up on Clongen tests than Igenex. That was true for us, as my 4 year old son had a negative Igenex and a positive Clognen western blot for lyme (the tests were done within a month of each other).

Do they take insurance or do you pay upfront and then submit to insurance. It would be great if they do take insurance. If you don't know, I could call them and then post what they have to say.

You have to pay upfront and then submit the info to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Sorry for the repeated question, But I figure someone out there has experience with this lab.

I understand that Bart lab tests are unreliable, but at least this one covers many strains, way more than igenics does. Thats why I'm wondering about it.

At the same time I get frustrated wasting money on these tests.

I don't have experience with this lab, but thanks for bumping this thread. They appear to offer a ton of tests. I am inclined to do the 20 different bart strain test as they are only an hour drive from me.

Well the igenics co-infection is also over priced IMO at aprox $800, and only covers a few Bart species. Clongen's 20 species Bart test is priced similar.

All these tests are overpriced IMO!

Well, back in 2008 the 20 species bart test was $200. I e-mailed Cllongen to get an accurate price.

As of 2015 their PCR 20 species Bartonella (dna) test is $210 bucks.

Thanks, that's not bad for the 20 species. Can a dr send your blood to them or how does it work for those of us who far away from the lab?

Most all these private labs operate the same way. They are kits, with specific directions for a blood draw technician to follow.

You need a Dr's order , then they send a kit to you or your Dr.

Your Dr or other blood draw place follows the kit instructions and YOU send back in provided packging/bag/box with payment info.
