Flagyl & Doxy??

My LLMD prescribed Flagyl today. 250 mg 2x a day for 2 weeks. If I do not have a reaction she said I am done... What should I expect on this drug? Should I start slow? I read in Dr. B's handout that the doxy will inhibit the Flagyl... Help! Need advice!

Can I just take the Flagyl alone? Will it do what it is supposed to do?

Can you tell I don't like taking drugs?? I don't even take Tylenol for a headache... I am such a wimp... Gave birth twice but still a HUGE wimp!

I was on Doxy for 8 months then was taken off of it before I started Flagyl. I have taken other meds along with both of those but never took them together. I don't know alot about the meds but 2 weeks seems very short! I was under the impression that each antibiotic needed at least 3 months in our systems to be effective?!?! Also, I had a horrible herx after starting Flagyl, so maybe that is what she means about if you do not have a reaction?? Although I am not sure if everyone does herx with Flagyl. I have heard some do not!

Many who take Flagyl take it for one week every month and then the other abx the other three weeks. Not both at once. Are you sure your doctor wanted you to keep taking the flagyl??

Yes, she said to take both of them together. I questioned her twice before I left and she said that people do it all the time. I am not really comfortable with taking both together.  To tell you the truth, I feel great. I have been exercing and feel really good. My only complaint is a rumbly tummy from the Abx.  I have been on Doxy going on 10 weeks.  Should I stop the Doxy, take the Flagyl and then continue on the Doxy for a little while?

My doctor had me on doxy, flagyl, & erythromycin all at once. 200mg doxy, 1000mg flagyl, & 1000mg erytro a day. I did this for eight months, with some improvment. He did not have me paulse, although I know many that do. I am not sure if they should be used together or not, just my experiance.

I was given doxy to take 7 days a wk, zithro 5 days a wk and flagyl sat and sun 3 times per day. Sounds like a ton of meds for me, and I only tested pos on one band.

Is there danger in taking the flagyl with these?????
