Pulling Sensations Near Ribs

I keep having a pulling sensation under my skin near my ribs on the left side. It's around the back a little bit.

Does anyone get these pulling sensations?

That was my first symptom. After 3.5 years of treatment, I still occasionally get a tightness there, like Someone is stretching an invisible Ace bandage around that area. Mine was(is) on the right side. I always suspected I got bit under my arm pit, but I just guess that as I never saw a rash or tick.

It's a relatively new symptom for me, and like anything on my left side, it worries me that it's heart related. Especially when my Cardiologist is particularly useless when it comes to knowing anything about Lyme, so he just blames everything on that.

Muscle spasms, maybe?

I've gotten band-like sensations across my chest from time to time, but it usually occurs at the same time of year as my Seasonal Asthma so I just figured it was related to allergies...

Hi Razzle,

That's what I was thinking it could be, because sometimes I feel like something is moving in that area, and other times it's just a pulling. It happens constantly throughout the day and is driving me nuts.

I developed this 7 weeks ago after a few weeks on minocycline . I have been in treatment for 2 years for Lyme babs and now Bart. I have had various symptoms for many many years. But this pulling and movement feeling under the left rib cage around to the back makes me wonder if it is the spleen. I feel it especially when I get up from a sitting position and it is not a muscle. Like something is moving inside of me under the muscle--not a tingling feeling but definately a rolling movement and yes a "pulling-tunging". Like some giant spirokete is rolling around inside (just kidding I think)!!!!LLMD wasn't concerned when I was there last, but I will tell him again next week as I think it is getting worse. It is definately NOT a digestive thing. Blessings

I have something similar in the ribs on the right side. I can best describe it as a tightness which can get worse so that it just hurts. Once It even developed into a bad cramp.

Hi Minerals,

Can you let me know what your LLMD says when you see him again? The only thing my primary says is a pulled muscle, when I know that's not what it is.

WHAT is that!! I have it too! It is a tightness under my rib cage on the Left hand side!  Mine comes and goes and radiates around front and back.  It seems that many lymies have this!!!

Anybody with this have an abdominal ultrasound and have the size of their spleen measured? Is it enlarged?

I had the same type of feeling - I had pain in, what felt like, the space between two of my ribs on my right side. It didn't feel like a muscle or bone pain - it was really weird. I asked my dr to check it out and he said that there didn't appear to be any swelling or inflamations in anything near there. Even still, the area around it was very sensitive to the touch but randomly went away after a few weeks while still on abx..
