Hi All,
I wanted to report how life has beeen on Tygacil. I was put in Tygacil or otherwise known as Tygacycline. It is in the Doxycycline family but much stronger. I do it through IV twice a day.
This week is my 6th week and I cannot remember the last time I was this happy, the pain load is lightening up and I had a heavy load of pain!!!!! It pretty much ruled my life! I would say now depending on the day it can be as much as half the pain!
I feel clearer in my head, am able to last longer throughout the day, however still hurt when I get home, but not near as bad as before. I am not really expreiencing any hadaeaches, maybe a few sinus like headaches but no the entire right side headaches and i have very little swelling on the right side where I was expreiencing a lot of palsy and severe swelling that spread down into my throat which would cause food to get stuck and it was a scary feeling!
A lot of these things I really cant answer, like when getting out of bed first thing in the morning I don't dread the first few steps knowing they were going to hurt like hel*!!! I was able to stop taking my sleeping meds, only take my valium when needed and before took exactly as prescribed, not taking break through pain meds as often as they are prescribed and quit taking my celexa totally!!!
I feel more like me. Still having some depth perception issues an some dizziness, and stomach aches, but besides that I am doing the best I have been doing in the past two years! I know TYGACIL is not a big pick b/c the nausea can cause. I take mine with Zofran at least 1 hour to 2 hours proior to and have only experienced nausea maybe a couple of times due to me rushing the iv drip to close to the time I took the Zofran!!!! You must also eat first
I think Tygacil should be used more often in other's treatments! If you know you have a weak stomach and everything makes you sick than no it's not for you but for those of you who are tougher and have the stomach of steel like I do i truly feel you will do fine on it!
Just thought I woudl share my story! It is always to hear a nice improvement story!!!
Take Care,
Onnmyway
