Anyone know anything about CBC w/diff and CMP ?

My dr want me to get a nebulizer with this medicine and for some reason I am a bit anxious about it. I think it is because it goes into my lungs. I am wondering if anyone has had this same type of medicine and if so if you can share your expereince. I am also nervous because I was told that sometimes a person can have a bad reaction so I am getting a percription for some "pen" thing that I am supposed to stick into myself if I end up not being able to breath!!!! The nebulizer and the medicine is very $$$ so I am hoping from feedback here before I run out and get it!!!THANK YOU!!!

Glutathione is sometimes given via nebulizer - is that the medication you are talking about? Glutathione is used to help with lyme detox and I've never heard of someone having an allergic reaction to it.

The "pen" you're referring to is called an EpiPen ("Epi" is short for epinephrine), and is used to combat Anaphylaxis, a dangerous type of allergic reaction that can cause your airway to swell closed. These types of reactions are rare but can happen so it is good the doctor wants you to have an EpiPen on hand.

My suggestion is to talk with your doctor about your concerns - and ask if you can try your first dose at his/her office so that their staff will be available to help if you do start to react to the drug. Or ask a friend to come and be with you during your first dose of the medication so that they can help you if you do start to have a bad reaction.

LLGirl: I am one of those people that are allergic to just about everything and I can tolerate glutathione just fine. Your own body makes gluatathione so I would think it would be unlikely to be allergic to it. It does wonders, I have done it orally, IV and injection but never have tried the nebulizer. Its a great de-toxer, I did IVs twice weekly for a year. It will make you feel better. D

Yes, your right that is the medicine that I am supposed to take in the nebulizer. I did talk to my Doc. about my concerns but my doctor blew me off. I don't know anyone who has done it so I wasn't sure if it would even be worth all the hassle to get it.

Thank you for your reply. Did you take the glutathione while on other meds too? I am on a few other antibiotics and I am always nervous about adding one more thing.  My doctor said it would help with my air hunger and getting oxygen into my arm and legs. I am also hesitant because I have to have the medicine delivered by a special pharmacy where they make it and then overnight the glutathione to me and it is $$$ so I am hoping to get some feedback before i jump in and get it. Would you mind telling me how it helped?

In my humble opinion, doctors who blow off patients' concerns are not being good doctors. It is their job to help you understand what you are being told to do, how to do it, and to answer all your questions and concerns about your condition and treatment. If they blow you off, they are not doing their job, period. I don't know if there is any way you can see a different doctor but you might want to consider doing so.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) may reduce the effectiveness of glutathione.
