I was reading some posts about
it but i'm not eactly sure what it's used for. Babs? cyst form? It seems that it's like flagyl but with less side effects?
Do many LLMD's use this?

Hi georgiagirl -
I am interested too -- if it is supposed to help for babs?!?! Only know that its used against giardia lamblia and cryptosporidium - it is an antiprotozoal like plaquenil or flagyl ....I googled a bit but found nothing about
babs...maybe somebody else knows...??
take care! dori

My 7 y.o. daughter took this. She had a colonoscopy done and showed severe lymph node hyperplasia(Inflammation) through her gut. I was told by the pharmacist that it is basically a antibiotic for the gut. Its supposed to be for the lining of the intestine, but doesn't penetrate the walls of the intestine. (Hopefully, I have this right). She took 7 days worth. Cost of around $600 (without insurance, OUCH!!) The doctor told me its similar to Flagl.

PainInFL and her daughters took this for treatment along with other abx. I was reading some of her posts and she thinks it was a good drug. Something worked, she and her daughters are well!

I was prescribed Alinia for crypto. but was told by my llmd that it will also hit the babesia. I was happy to hear that. It is incredibly expensive, but my insurance covered most of it for my first "round". If I need it again, I don't know if they will pay for it. Luckily, I am tolerating it well. I have a blood chem test next week, so I'll be able to tell if it has hurt my liver or kidney functions. Best Wishes to all. bablymers mom

I was just on Alinia also for crypto. I actually got it 3 summers ago using creek water in Nevada to shower with. But had a repeat stool test a couple months ago and still showed positive. So My llmd put me on Alinia.
That's great to hear it works for babesia also! 2 for 1 ,wow. My insurance covered it.
