severe facial flushing

does anyone experience this? sorry if i have already asked this on this forum - i can't remember:)

i am wondering if this is a common symptom of lyme's. i know it is on the list of symptoms, but i never hear it discussed. my facial flushing is INTENSE and can last for hours and hours, burning in pain. i never flushed or blushed, ever, until i got sick. it came on suddenly and intensely. it was one of my first symptoms. does this sound in line with lyme's or a coinfection??
i have seen dermatologists about rosacea, and everyone says it is definitely not that. i am actually getting a lot of relief from the flushing on ideral, a beta blocker, but wonder if anyone else has had this? i am also wondering if anyone has heard of it being an initital problem with lyme's?

thanks, dowa. i had my histamine levels checked several times, as doctors thought a lot of my symptoms sounded like mastocytosis. they have always been normal. i have also been thouroughly checked for neuroendocrine tumors. my doctors, of all my symptoms, definitely seemed most interested in the facial flushing because it came on very suddenly and very intensely. this doesn't fit the picture of a flushing disorder like rosacea. it has now just been chalked up to autonomic nervous system dysfunction, as all my symptoms have been, but doctors can't tell me what kind of autonomic dysfunction. i have been diagnosed with a "POTS-CFS-like syndrome." pretty vague.

anyways, a bit off topic, but i am wondering if facial flushing occurs with lyme's. it has been one of my most prominent symptoms, and especially because it was worst in the beginning of all this. if this doesn't fit the profile of lyme's, i think i'd hesitate to see a llmd.

yes, my blood pressure was never high when it happened. however, my body temperature would shoot up during a flush, even if it was for like six hours. it'd go from what it normally is at now, around 96.5-97.0 to around 99 in just minutes when a flush came on.
