1st time seeing Disability Lawyer/Advice

  Anyone have advice about how to be prepared for seeing a disability lawyer for the first time?

I last worked Novenber 2007.

I went fron working two jobs up to June of 2005 to part time jobs to no jobs because of Lyme symptoms.

wishing all the luck there is,

I too havent been able to work since aug. of 06 , at first we thought is was due to arthiris, but now i know its lymes, just wish y doctors did as well. make sure you take in all med recorders you have and any termations papers from part jobs. this maybe of some help. plus if you have doc notes as to reson for not working you shold take them also, if you dont have them contace your doc to see if you can get a copy, they should have it in you chart.

In addition to medical records (doctor's notes and any other pertinent medical info), mine also had me bring in my prescription medicines to verify.

Go to the appointment as prepared as you can. As others mentioned, you should bring your medical records, list of prescriptions and work history. I would also include a timeline and a detailed list of symptoms and how they affect you and your daily life. I wasn't thinking too clearly when I met with the attorney so I gave him as much information in writing as possible so I wouldn't forget or leave anything out during out meeting.
