According to Medicare, & CIGNA they do not cover HBOT because it's considered experimental for Lyme disease.  EXPERIMENTAL FOR LYME  (He11, at least we got recognized by name "LYME")!

CIGNA should cover all drugs!  At a certain level, OXYGEN becomes a drug!  Therefor I conclude that HBOT should be covered as a "drug"?

I have insurance out the friggin' wazzoo and NOTHING'S COVERED????????????????????????"

I wish I could try the hyperbaric chamber. I saw an episode on mystery diagnoses where it helped this girl. I would probably be clostrophobic though even though you can see through it.

CG, some places have them so big your in a reg hospital bed with a Dr. an nurise in there, even a TV. maybe one that size wouldnt bother you as much. or if your like me the knowing i cant get out pushes me over the edge.

can you ride in a car with the doors locked? or with a setbelt on? i cant. i cant even sit in the backset without triping out

I would love to try it. I'd probably fall asleep. Anytime I can lay down and close my eyes I'm a happy camper. lol

You probably saw Brooke Landaus's story.  She's on the DVD UOS as the brunette women who says she has paid 100's and 100's of thousands of dollars for treatment.

Was she the one that moved to Florida to be in a warmer climate? If so, that's her.

RD: I didn't know they made them that big! Wow! I may be able to do it that way. It does sometimes bother me if I think I can't get out. Yeah, I can put a seatbelt on and lock the doors. I freak out sometimes when I'm waiting I'm a long line and there are objects on both sides of me like a building or another car to where I feel like I can't get out. I cannot go through a car wash either. I used to be able too.

Not sure if she moved to FL. I think she is still a newscast or weather person in CA...... this is just eating away at me. Part of me is terrified it WON'T work.... part of me is terrified at the COST.

I'll keep you guys updated. I'll start either 07/06 or 07/13................. man, I hate the waiting............ and I hate the periphereal IV's.

i have read , heard and discussed with another member on another lyme chat forum that hyperbaric chambers help you feel better , but what happens is the lyme will burrow themselves deeper into your tissues which later makes you alot worse and even harder to rid yourself of these critters, conclusion ive heard it doesnt work, please research thoroughly before jumping into new treatments that we are not at all fimiliar or experts on, you can be doing yourselve a hell of alot worse

My doctor says it works good for lyme, but you can herx really really bad from it, because it can cause too many lyme bugs to die at once. It forces oxygen into all tissue, doesn't need to rely on blood flow. Lyme is killed by oxygen.

However, according to books I read on Babesia written by an expert lyme doctor, hyperbaric chambers does NOT kill babesia.

At this point, I would stand on my head in a corner and eat worms all day if I thought it would help.

I appreciate everyone's input. I'm going to do this for 4 weeks (IV Invanz and HBOT).... so if it doesn't help, I'll stop.
