I was wondering if anyone has dealt with Impingement Syndrome or any othe Rotator Cuff prblems? I am having an MRI done tomorrow on both arms. I am feaarful the LD is causing the inflammation in my Rotator Cuff and not something else. Anyone experience this? I really hope I have some sort of structural problem that is causing it. At least that can be fixed. Let me know what you know. thanks, amey

I've treated a lot of both. Impingement syndrome is easy to treat-rotator cuff tears can be treated with therapy if small, or surgically repaired.

BETHS: Is it possible that LD could be causing the impingement, the inflammation?

I also have both issues with my shoulders. As a matter of fact the shoulder is one of the first extreme pains I got before being diagnosed. Now I just get the pain if I do too much with it. I believe it is and was from lyme because as I got treatment it got better.

A rotator cuff tear is caused by a small (or large) tear in one of the shoulder girdle muscles. I usually see it from an injury, or repetitive trauma (doing the same motion over and over). An impingement syndrome is when a muscle gets "caught" between the bones of the shoulder. Yes, I believe inflamation could cause this. It's easily treated-get a physical therapy referral!

Both of my shoulders are sore. I need physical therapy.
It used to be in just my right shoulder. I've been carrying a 16 lb. laptop 10 blocks everyday for the past seven years to a job that may lay me off.
It started with a pop a crunch and now pain.
I switched arms and began carrying the machine on my left shoulder. Now, guess what happened? A pop a crunch and pain in my left shoulder.
Between my neck popping and hurting as well as the strain the laptop puts on my head/neck and shoulders, as well as plantar fascitiis,. two trigger fingers, an arthritic toe and Mortons Neuroma, I don't know what to think of the year that just went by.

Better yet-use a rolling suitcase/laptop holder

I got tendinitis in my rotator cuff from levaquin. It has been going on now for 4 months but slowly getting better. Often when I lift my arm in a certain direction it gets caught on the bone, which is extremely painful. It also aches at night when I am trying to sleep. I had physical therapy which was helpful. It is important to keep the mobility. Ultra sound increases the circulation which is helpful. I hope you do not need surgery.

I have had these shoulder problems - couldn't lift my right arm very much for a while - lifting and turning the arm was virtually impossible - I didn't get any treatment but after about
6 weeks it got much better - I could hear a lot of crunching etc; at the time - I thought it was permanent - I don't know if it is the lyme or not [my gut tells me it is}
