Good luck-an MRI should help figure out whats going on. Sometimes a problem in the cervial spine can radiate to the shoulder-which is why your arm pain "jumps" around.
Anyone check you for "thoracic outlet syndrome"? Turn your head away from the side that hurts, and stretch your arm (on the painful side) out. Or, look straight ahead, bring your ear to your shoulder by laterally flexing your neck (do both sides) Does that increas your pain? Mention this syndrome to your doc
