What are HH capsules they seem to be for bartonella. what treats bart.

HH capsules are a natural "supplement" that are a part of Dr. Z's protocol.

I believe Gracie's Mom might be familiar with these.

Can you tell me what is the usual dosage of HH for Bart, and the length of time Bart needs to be treated for. Thanks

HH is the Chinese herb houtynia which is a powerful antibiotic. Dr Zhang sells it and calls it HH. He has the most potent form of it but 3 capsules a day will not cure bartonella. If it did, no one would have bart. Dr Schaller wrote a book on bartonella and according to his research it takes a "much higher dose" than what anyone recommends to treat bartonella. Schaller does not say in his book what the dosage should be, which is maddening as it is the most expensive book I have ever bought. He charges $500 for a half hour consultation to get this information. I have communicated with many people who paid for his council and they were all told to take 20 HH capsules a day for bartonella, which is broken up into 4 doses. All of them were getting better but it takes a long time. The problems is the expense. I am currently taking 16 capsules a day and it costs over $350 a month just for that one herb. Zhang is supposed to double the strength of the hh capsules. When I asked to order this strength he told me it is still in customs. I wrote again the next month and was told by someone working at his firm that there is a delay by the FDA. As the FDA does not have anything to do with "supplements", I believe we are just being sold the old strength until they run out. Here we are trying to get better and everyone out there is trying to make money off of us!
It does work. I feel much better.

Nefferdun,

Were you taking HH capsules by themselves or with antibiotics? Can it be taken with antibiotics? I am thinking of maybe trying to find something natural I can do while I'm off antibiotics.

I am wondering what kind of side effects people have experieced with HH capsules. I started them a few days ago, but before that I changed my protocol several times. I'm having lots of GI issues and not sure if its just from all the antibiotics I stopped taking. I was on 5-6 different antibiotics in the last 2-3 months with none of them for very long because I couldn't get through the side effects. I've been taking VSL #3 throughout this time.

cajumgrl, I am not taking any abx. I used levaquin for 5 weeks and got tendonitis. After that any thing the LLMD prescribed caused side effects so bad I could not take anything. I have hundreds of dollars of drugs sitting in the cabinet that I will probably never try to take again.
radfaraf, the only side effect of HH capsules is that it can cause an upset stomach in some people. I have never had that problem but I do eat something after each dose or I burp it up and it has an awful taste. I had loose bowels while on abx but since having quit, I am normal again. I eat a lot of yogurt which helps. I also take 1000 mg grapefruit seed extract daily which gets rid of yeast and also kills the cyst form of lyme. I take about 1500 mg TOA free cat's claw for the lyme. This is divided into 4 doses.
Schaller wrote that clove bud oil and cumanda also helps cure bartonella but also must be taken in very high doses. He says what is recommended is "very low". So if Zhang says to take 3 a day and Schaller says 20 a day, that is 6-7 times the recommended dose. Schaller wrote none of the abx cures bartonella. I believe you should take the abx long enough to get the diseases under control. Then I believe herbs are the best approach because they do not kill the beneficial bacteria in your system or have serious side effects. I am much better than I was but I dare not quit the herbs.

Thank you so much for all of the information. I appreciate you taking time out to write all of that. I am thinking about continuing on antibiotics first, then getting on something natural. I'd like to try something natural now since I've gotten off of antibiotics but I may wait to see what my doctor says first. I think I am overloaded with toxins. He's supposed to check for that when I go in.

nefferdun: I've read lots of your past post here. Saw things about you taking the mega dosages of HH capsules. Wonder how long it took to see a response on really high dosages. Since its expensive, if I try it I want to get an idea of when I should give up trying if no repsonse. I'm taking the normal dosages of everything in Zhang's book for now.

Also what happened with trying to get a small order directly from the supplier?
