It's me again, with more questions. I posted a few weeks ago about
the possibility of having Lyme. I still don't have an answer to that. The doctor gave me just 2 weeks of Ceftin, in case I had early Lyme, but I never called him back to ask for an extension because I was getting terrible headaches from the Ceftin and convinced myself I just must have some infection that was weird and intense, but on it's way out the door
My mother-in-law, who is a nurse even urged me to get an extension, but I didn't listen. So hear is what happened....
about
a week and a half of being off of the Cetin, I felt fine (other than a couple anxiety attacks, which I've never had in the past). A few days ago I woke up with terrible pain in the center of my back. The next day, same pain, but accompanied by pain in my upper arms and upper legs. It was not terrible, but everything felt heavy. I felt like I had spent the previous day lifting heavy objects and wore out my muscles...but I did not do anything like that recently at all. Yesterday before I left for work, I noticed a large swollen gland on my neck, below my ear. It was painful to touch, but I had no problems with it if not touched. As the day went on my ear started to ache really bad on that side of my head, then a spot on my head was also hurting really bad. It felt like I had inflammation running from the top of my head down to the top of my arm on that side. This was coupled with the back pain and I ended up leaving work early because I was in so much pain. Today...no pain! The gland is still swollen and the right side of my head feels a little different, but my body seems to have fought off the problem (or in the process of fighting). I have heard Lyme cycles mentioned on here before and was wondering if that is something that would happen with that. If you go through a cycle, does it work itself out for a while? I don't think this is the end, but maybe a period of rest. I am going back to the doctor on Friday, btw, for another Lyme test.
