Hi Really Lyme,
I think your question was appropriate and deserved some respect. If they cannot give you a picture, they SHOULD be able to give you a report about the unknown "thing" they found in your urine. How do they know it is "growing" and not just floating around in your urine because it came from tissue or blood somewhere else? Their report should state what culture medium they used to try to grow it in. They should also be able to give you a description of the "germ" such as the shape (a "cocci" or "rod" etc.), if it is gram negative or positive or what stain they used to see it, what size it is, proof that it is actually a living thing and not a non-living piece of something else, or maybe dead bacteria, virus etc. In my opinion, this is your health information and you should have a right to know what they are saying about it and what they did. I think it's reasonable that you should be entitled to copies of reports so that you can choose to get a second opinion if you want. Also, if what they saw is so "unusual" that they have never seen it before, you would think they would have taken pictures of it in order to do more research. Just my opinion, but I sure would want them to give me all the info. they had.
I hope things go well for you and that your troubles resolve quickly. Best wishes. bablymers mom
