I am in my third month of antibiotics after over 3 years of symptoms.  Just when you think you can't get another symptom I now have migrating pain anywhere on my body as if a bruise from my thigh to my side to my ovary to my arm.  Is this the onset of fibro or the antiobiotics finally working?  I just can't figure this thing out.  Can anyone relate with similar bruise like pains?

I have real bad pain in my muscles. It feels like they've been bruised but I have no bruises there. I also get stabbing pain all over too.

This disease is baffling. I hope things settle down for you soon.

Thanks Cajungirl, but can I ask, do you think it is the disease progressing or the antibiotic working and the toxins causing these effects.  Are you still in treatment and for how long?  Thanks so much for all your help.  As I feel better better and have more energy, I can deal with these new developments but would love to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, if you know what I mean.  Thanks again.

My doctor informed me before I started treatment that I would probably have new symptoms come up. I had new symptoms, old symptoms plus the ones I already had! It was horrible and it was a herx. A bad one at that.

i started getting some bruises, and my upper legs are in pain like it should be bruised also, but isn't.. i know i worked all day, but i shouldn't feel like this..

I have a ring like bruise on my elbow the size of a softball baseball, before that I had swelling like water retention in my elbow then followed by a bruise without the bruise like pain, its sore but not like a bruise would hurt, starnge anyone had this? and I dont remember banging into anything

Springsjean ...Abx's in the beginning can be pretty tough and new symptoms can arise as the lyme shows it self and toxin build up from die off causesing more symptoms, are you detoxing daily? also herx reactions is an indications that the abx's are working , so in a bad way it sounds like a good thing, from what I know if you take abx's and nothing happens then you probably dont have lyme or anything like bacterial infection,etc, to my knowledge you will get worse before getting better , this happened with me aswell I got worse then slowing started to get better

Thanks so so much. I haven't detoxed yet as I am afraid to feel worse but I guess I need to bite the bullet. I did buy the epsom salt and peroxide so now just have to do it. Any other detox suggestions? I have found out hot tub to be helpful. I often think I should try getting in every night and see if it makes a difference. So I guess the severity of the illness coupled with the strength and duration of the antibiotics will depend on results?

Springsjeans,  I get migrating pain when I am herxing, have you been tracking your symptoms each day?  It's a great way to see changes/improvements.  You think you will remember what symptoms you're having when, but it all seems to run together after awhile.

KO-LD - I have been keeping a diary for 3+ years because I just knew something wasn't right and couldn't remember from day to day as I always had something going on. So yes I write down everyday and it helps tremendously.

+lyme - that is what I am getting at? How long does this period of "worse before better" last???

Springsjeans, I would start your detox and see how you feel.  You might want to ask your doc if you can take  a short break.  KO

I am not on abx currently, but this just happend to me a few days ago!  I had a twisted type of feeling in my knee, but not really painful.  It only hurt when I walked down steps.  It was like that for about a week, then a bruise surfaced below my knee cap which got really dark purple.  I never banged my knee or twisted it, so couldn't figure out why that happend.  I also had several lighter bruises around the knee.  They are getting better, but my knee still feels strange...kind of wobbly.  Will ask the doctor his thoughts tomorrow...

TOGuy, I've heard of bull's eye rashes that look like a bruise, you should take a picture of it to show your doctor. KO

In the beginning... I woke up with a new symptom almost everyday..... "in the beginning" = first 4 years.

Is that while you were under treatment or before treatment. I'm 4 years into it and yes new symptoms since the beginning but more so after 3 months of treatment.

I also experienced many new symptoms during the first 3-4 months of treatment. I recently started to realize that many of these new symptoms and some old ones are very slowly disappearing as I enter my 6th month. "Baffling" is an understatement. lol

Ko-LD, I thought of that to but it also hurts a bit like a bruise would, but it is a good idea to take pics of it just for the record and show my llmd

another way to detox are footbaths with cajun pepper and dry mustard or epson salts and peroxide dont foeget to dry brush your skin to get those pours open when having baths when doing footbaths dry brush under soles, infarred suanas, drinking a glass of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of pure lemon juice first thing in the morning 1 hr before breakfast, there is also more about detoxing in the newbie section under detox

I have the 'odd' migrating pains - it has only happened - so noticably - when I have taken abx.

the first time it happened I had just got in the car - I remember thinking 'what the heck is this?' - thinking back to that time though I was taking abx. for un-related prob. - hadn't started any lyme treatment!!

I hope these travelling pains mean that the bacteria in the affected areas are being cleared - I have definately felt worse since about 10 days into abx. - it was about 10 days before I had any effects from 'doxy' too.

The detoxing idea is a great one. You may want to invest in a portable sauna. I am about to order one myself. A few people here use it and say it works really well.

If you need me to bump up the detox thread, let me know. It has some great information about detoxing and the items you need.

I have had the jumping pain for a few yrs now, and I wasnt on any abx then. I have only had abx 2 times in the last few months. back in April I was on doxy for about 5 days. didnt know I have lyme then. it made me so sick I had to stop. then the ID gave me a z-pack, witch did nothing for me. but I still have the moving pains.

1 day i was driving it felt as tho someone punched my upper leg, felt like a chairle horse really. so sooner did it stop then it was a big toe on the other leg. then it moved to my side and the back of my head. I never know whats going to heart and when.

this is 1 thing I would never wish for anyone to have. it is enough to drive anyone crazy. and most thing we are when we yelp or cry out for the sudden pain out of nowere.

praying for everyone to have better days ahead pain free....
