Lyme completely ruled out???

So I got my results today from my second Lyme test.  I forgot to ask for the first set of results.  Anyway, the doctor said it was negative.  I have actually been feeling better since Sauturday when my neighbor gave me Zyflamend.  It did wonders for my joint stiffness and now I am starting to think I am a mental case and thinking all of these things going wrong recently have been random and not all part of one big thing.  The test shows all non-reactive bands except 41 KD (IGM).  I hope to continue on a path of feeling better, but wanted to ask what band 41 is?  Is it normal for someone to have that reactive if there is no underlying condition?

Now you're asking tough questions!

Band 41 is a tricky one. Dr. C's Western blot explanation says that band 41 is specific to spirochetes. So, if you have syphillys (sp) or gum disease OR Lyme, it will show up on Band 41.
Did you have any "IND", or just all negatives (other than 41)

As for whether or not it is Lyme...some people have a completely negative test, but still have Lyme disease. It is a clinical diagnosis. At this point, I would still recommed seeing an LLMD, as they would be able to look at your symptoms, and decide whether you could be clinically diagnosed.

Well I think Syphillys and Gum Disease would be pretty unlikely. Everything says either Negative or Non-reactive except band 41, which says Reacitve.

My first test only showed band 41. My lyme dr put me on doxy for 3 weeks to challenge the lyme. ( he diagnosed me clinically by taking a long history) On the 2nd test I had band 41 and another one show up.( I think it was in the 30s)

Blood tests just don't always show a lot.

I have responded well to antibiotics over the last year. It's been a long process. I felt worse before I felt better and I am still not well yet. But I am happy that I am on the way and that I stuck with the dr.s plan.

I don't pay any attention docs who are not well educated about lyme.

Nicky D - Apparently Quest does not have IND as a reported result. I was just trying to research this and came across that. My test was done through Quest and they will only show + or - so I guess this is just another questionable area.
