Lyme and Blood Spots...connection?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has had any blood spots under their skin as an effect of Lyme disease? I noticed when I first became ill that I had a small purple spot on the top of my hand. It kind of looked like a purple freckle, but I have tons of freckles and could tell the difference. I decided I'd keep an eye on it to make sure it did not get bigger or anything and it eventually disappeared. I have been feeling pretty well in recent weeks, but started to feel not quite right in the last few days. Just some random problems, but then noticed that purple spot had come back today...in the same place. A quick Google search revealed that blood spots are caused from infections and chronic inflammatory diseases, so I was wondering if anyone else here has had that problem before? Maybe a long shot, but worth asking.

Thanks for the reply.  I did come across the term petechiae when I was searching last night and it does look like that, except it is only one spot.  It seems with petechiae, people get several spots, so I'm not sure if it could be that, but it might be?
