First, a thank you to Peter for granting me permission to post here.
I am writing an article about kids and Lyme disease for Parents magazine. I'd love to talk to a parent who had trouble getting his/her child diagnosed (kid was misdiagnosed, treated for other things, or the complaints were ignored by docs). Or a parent who was totally surprised by the diagnosis (had no idea Lyme disease was a problem, didn't know kid had been bitten by tick). Or even a parent whose child needs long-term treatment (the standard antibiotic treatment didn't do the trick). The child should be between the ages of 1 and 7 (but if the diagnosis occurred during this time, but he's now older, that would work too).
Please email me at [email protected], and include your name, your child's name and age, your city/state, and contact info (email and phone).
I need replies by next Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Thank you.
