I am very sorry for your pain and the long trip you have to make, CG! I hope you are not driving yourself, are you?? I truly hope not!
Altho I realize that OTC pain relievers are not very effective w/ Lyme, but since you mentioned OTCs --If you want to try something like Ibu, I have tips for taking it and preventing that God awful stomach ache. As an anti=inflammatory, you need 3-4 regular Ibu tablets. Take a rolaid if you can, fix a snack, like half a little sandwich. Drink water, eat half the sandwich, a little more water, the Ibu, and follow w/ another Rolaid and the rest of the sandwich.
This is called 'sandwiching' and it works w/ Ibu as well as the codeine pain killers that upset so many peoples' stomach.
