Just thought I would share my story with you. I had a Baby Girl a liitle over a year ago and so far she has tested negative and been very Healthy. I had been symptom free for over 6 months and stayed on antibiotics during pregnancey and breastfeeding.

The antibiotics were really hard on our babys stomach so I did have to switch to formula that was very hard for me I am very probreastfeeding.

Unfortunitly when she was about 6 months old I went off antibiotics I had been better for so long. And it came back with a Vengence worse than before.

I am slowly doing better on antibiotics again and hope for the best. Our little girl is wonderful and I am so glad we were blessed with her.

I will always worry about Lyme in the back of my head and we will watch her carefully.

i am going to try to get pregnant by the end of the fall.  i was originally planning on trying in the summer and got my script for amoxy from my llmd, but then decided to wait a little longer.  i have been off abx. for a year now and doing very well (95% back).  i am feeling pretty positive about getting pregnant.  actually i want 2 more babies- my son is already 4 and i am 36, so i better get going!!!! plan on having the next 2 close together.

i have read many positive stories, especially with amoxy.....

How are you? I Have had lyme foe about 9 years if my theory of when i got it is correct but i'm not sure. So Mia is 2 now. She tested CDC pos this july for Lyme .
I never knew i have Lyme until pregnancy caused a big flare. Body swelling caused me to find out what the heck was going on. I had a butterfly rash this is caused by lupus or lyme only so when I looked at both symptoms i realized this is Lyme.

I thought to myself god does my baby have it. I read once about this rash that appears on the back of the neck and hairline that looks reddish and like a birthmark that will appear and disappear on a child with congenital lyme.

I realized I have witnessed this rash on my daughters neck after bathing.

So yes I gave he lyme congenitally . The above advise seems to be the consensus to do amoxy while pregnant for prevention. Obviously I dont have experience with this.

I wish I did. I also have heard good things.
My daughter is healthy this is probably why she had a posotive test because her body is producing antibodies because it is doing a good job right now.

Although I was very hurt and scared to have to treat her and didnt even know if i should considering she is healthy and i didnt want to mess up a good thing.

I did anyway. We started with the azithromycin and I have seen that it is the right thing. She was getting a bit grumpy and it is as if something has lifted.

She even was becoming hard to teach anything to.. and after my history of doing baby sign language with her to increase her vocabulary , I wasnt used to her being hard to teach. She was doing baby sign language at 7 months. It helps you communicate before they have the muscles in the tongue and mouth to talk. So you also eliminate some crieing.


But now she seems to be calm again and learning quickly again without frustration . She is 2 though.... haha..

But if you get to the point where you treat yourself and you still give Lyme to your child what i can say is it is the right thing to treat .

Some may have said she had no symptoms, but a Mother sees what is not right. And something has definitly lifted.

Are you very sick? How are you now. Pregnancy is a state of immunosupression that is why you may become worse as you try to have baby. It is why I became worse. I went from a little brain fog and some teeny dull back pain.

To pain almost everywhere stiff neck and shoulders. Decreased range of motion of tendons. Swelling of my knees and fingers. Terrible foot pain so much that some mornings I cant walk for a bit.

I wonder what treating during pregnancy does for this aspect.

Yes, I was on Amoxy during pregnancy and breastfeeding. They also dosed me with IV antibiotics not sure what while in the Hospital in hopes it would not come back. Well it did, make sure to take very good care of yourself post pregnancey. Relapsing with a Baby is very tough.
