Metal taste in mouth YUK!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a metal taste in my mouth, I have to chew gum all day in order not to taste it. Does anyone know what that comes from.

certain ABX have this..i think i was on clyndimican or mepron/biaxin and i had this.. i just quit it, and after 3 days of stopping that abx protocol the metal taste went away... feels like sucking on pennies all day...

James OMG yes it does taste like im sucking on pennies all day. YUK!!! Well I will be on these meds for awhile, as long as thats all it is and not my liver I'll deal with it..

Artimisinin did it to me. Brushing my tongue helped as it would come hard a certain number of hours after I took it. Trident cinnamon gum is the holy grail for that. I too lost my appetite as nothing tastes right!

It's good to read this. I've been wondering why I have no appetite. So far I don't taste metal but I often smell celery....

I take Cedax and Malarone and even with this yukky taste I still have my appetite. LOL

Totally from biaxin. Pills smell like vanilla but taste like metal! Sucking on a lollypop helps. It is usually the worst about 2 hours after I take it.

The biaxin gave me a horrible terrible taste, but it wasn't metallic. I know it is for most people and that is what the doc said, but it was just a horrible nasty I want to vomit taste for me. Oh, and it made me soooo sick. I feel so bad for ya! That is so awful!

Biaxin is known to give a metallic taste in your mouth. My pharmacist warned me about this when I filled my medication.

Lyrica gives me a metalic taste.
