I just had to let you all know.......
I have been in treatment almost 3 years now. However, since August we have been treating virals, and virals only. Prior to August, I had been off all abx since Feb. (needed an abx break after all that time).
Treating virals has been pretty darn rough at times.
BUT
Yesterday we had our Club Car show... I got 4-5 hrs sleep on Friday night (this was after cleaning my house all day), then showed up at 6:30 AM to start the show.
Was a LUNATIC all day. We had 242 cars registered, which I helped park. Then it was my responsibility to sell 50/50 tickets. Granted I did have a golf cart (thank god)...but I was on the run the whole day.
We are a very small club (8 couples) and we are non-profit and all monies raised every year from our show goes to purchasing gifts for families of the Salvation Army. The children write Dear Santa letters, which we are given and we buy for them off of those letters, then go in as Santa and deliver to them. Really warms your heart.
Anyway, the goal given to me by the President of the Club was to reach $ 1000- on the 50/50. That is pretty darn tough in this economy...but if you knew me .......
I made the goal early afternoon...so he gave me $ 1250- now..
Needless to say @ 3:15 I had raised $1475-!!!! Half of which would go to the winner of the 50/50. I actually ran out of tickets and had to stop selling.
The winner, an older man, donated $ 100- of his winning back to us for the kids! I cried and gave him a big hug.
We then handed out over 80 trophies, waved goodbye to every last car, then had to start cleaning up and breaking down. Finished at 5:30. (I had not even had a chance to pee since 6AM, and I am not kidding!).
Went for dinner with everyone, then drove the 1 1/2 hrs to our home. Got in about 8:45. Took my meds, was in bed by 9:30.
My point is....1 year ago I would have NEVER been able to do this. In fact, I did not do it. I had to drop out of the Club for 2 years, and we joyfully were able to rejoin this past May.
There is hope...there is joy and there is healing...We just need to hang in there, treat all aspects of the disease and lean on one another for comfort and encouragement.
I hope my story has been able to encourage some of you!
Hugs to all
