Hi Everyone

I was diagnosed with lyme last spring after having my first mini-stroke/TIA. Since that time I have discovered that I have gone untreated for over 8 years. It is in my organs and brain. My husband and children have also tested positive for lyme. They are having an easier time with the treatment.

I am going though treatment and it has hit me really hard. I find if I exercise I do better. My thinking is clearer and I can do more during the day. I was exercising 6 to 7 days a week, 1 to 2.5 hours a day. Unfortunately I caught the swine flu 3 weeks ago. Had a fever of 101.5 for 4 days. My doc said that probably killed a lot of the bacteria but I spent 2 weeks not moving much and went off the samento. When I was finally over it I was amazed how much atrophy I had in my muscles. I am having a hard time just tiring to think.

I have been working with a Naturopathic / oriental medicine doc, neurologist, endocrinologist, and regular doc. I am in the north western us and it seems like no one knows much about this here except my Naturopathic / oriental medicine doc. Who has had lyme.

I wanted to know if anyone is taking samento to treat lyme? And how do you take it? I have been taking it in a 4oz glass of water. I was think that maybe it would better to add it to a 16oz bottle of water 3 times a day. That way you are taking it all day. Any thought or feeling would be welcome.

I used to take Samento until I read Stephen Buhner's book Healing Lyme, where he states that regular Cat's Claw is just as effective and much less expensive.  I take Cat's Claw "5000" by NOW and have had good results.  When I took the Samento I used to take it in the 4oz of water before 30 minutes before breakfast I think.  I think you are suppose to take it before eating, is that correct?  KO

Thank you KO-LD. I will ask my doc about Cat's claw "5000". I cant believe how much we are spending on meds and supplements right now. Money seams to be going out faster then it is coming in.

I have the book healing lyme but am having a hard time trying to read. My body starts to shut down. Everything goes a little fuzzy then I feel like laying down. If I push thought it I pay later. I can read the post on this site only a little at a time. I will go back to reading "Healing Lyme' a little at a time.

I'm taking an herbal blend now, but the Cat's Claw that I was taking was Saventaro by Better World. I haven't been taking it since I started with the other blend. I'm thinking that maybe for winter I should add it back in, just to keep my immune system as happy as possible.
