If antibiotics lessens the effective of birth control pill, is it just wiser to stop the pill and use other methods? The reason I ask is, I have a yeast problem and I'm on Omnicef (generic) is it better to give my body a rest for birth control pill for a while? I'm on YAZ as well, it says not to take if you have a inflammatory disease. I have to forget about what my boyfriend wants and think about me.

I'm on Omnicef 2 pills a day (600mg total) is this alot of medication for Lyme's or is it standard?

I stopped Doxy for a week and started Omnicef, of course a second yeast infection occured, does anyone take Difluan on a regualr basis for vaginal yeast infection? I have Nystantin, but that's not helping my vaginal yeast infection.

Using condoms would help you get over your vaginal yeast infections. Taking a salt bath or douche immediately after intimacy will do a lot too (spoils the mood, but it is better that you are well). You can't fight Lyme properly if your body is fighting off yeast as well. Have you tried the herbal yeast detox/cleanses?

Do you have to forget what your boyfriend wants, or does he just need more information so that he, with you, can choose the practices that will get you well again?

Are you on a good probiotic? That is key especially since you take both bc pills and an antibiotic. Also another thing to consider is, I'm pretty sure you and your partnership could be passing the yeast infection back and forth if you aren't using protection.

I have never had a yeast infection however I do take Diflucan for my Lyme symptoms and it has helped me tremendously. I also take Omnicef on the days I am herxing.
