ceftriaxone

Day two on ceftriaxone....

I started with feeling phlemmy this morning...and after my second infusion still feel likle phlem is stuck in my throat.  I called the Pharmacist and was told this is not a side effect.

If anyone has been on this medication, please tell me if got this feeling. 

The med is IV Rocephin or ceftriaxone.

I think you may be right...I need to get a prescription for some diflucan. I'm trying to eat yogurt, but I guess it is not enough.

I can not take probiotics...because they make my throat itch. So I need to find other ways to control yeast.

Thanks for the response...I was nervous about starting the new medication...however, after two doses I'm not as nervous about the medication. The phlem in my throat started after the first dose...I have also noticed my throat feels like it is sticking inside.

I called the pharmacist...not a reaction to the med...I think it could be yeast. I will get some diflucan from my doctor and hopefully that will help.

needshelp thanks for the information...I always check before I mix anything. Worst case I can take the medication when I'm finished the course of antibiotics.

I do wish I could take probiotics, but unfortunately I can't. Right now I'm avoiding sugar, bread, milk products. I do think the yogurt I'm eating is milk based, but I need the bacteria right now.

If anyone else has suggestions to help me deal with the yeast I would greatly appreciate it. I have heard of Kefir, but I don't know much about it, is it better than yogurt...where do you buy it?
