i have read several posts on air hunger BUT......

I did what you describe to alleviate air hunger and as you say, it worked for a moment. For me, air hunger was a very uncomfortable feeling that I could not get enough air. I wasn't wheezing. There was no physical sign that I wasn't getting enough air other than my feeling that way. What you describe sounds to me, also, like a response to anxiety. It may be difficult to differentiate between the two since in my experience the feeling of not getting enough air is anxiety producing. Have you been tested for babesia and/or other coinfections?

I am positive for babesia and my air hunger symptoms don't feel like I need more air, but less. My breaths are shallow and feel restricted(like my abdominal muscles are too tight, but trust me, they're not)

For me, it feels like breathing has become less automatic and now requires some attention to it to take a proper breath.

My air hunger can be severe at times....I have to strain to breathe in enough air. Sometimes it feels like nothing I do is working, I just can't get enough air. Huge yawns, changing position, stretching vertically to give my diaphragm more room.....I try everything.

The air hunger gets worse when I start new meds for Babesia, like Alinia or Mepron, they seem to stir things up!

I dont reall know Trav but my doc ordered the test the other day,,,,
