Momyou:
I liked him, my first impression is that he is not as detailed as Dr. B. He had Dr. B's guidelines in his office. He believes it doesn't matter if co-infections are treated after Lyme is treated (Dr B says treat co-infections first). He thinks I have Bartonella based on my symptoms, but bec I am breatfeeding, he said we can't treat it for now. So he is only treating me for lyme. He just got bit and had the rocephin line in his arm. He will try to get my
insurance company to pay for rocephin for me. He said that's the best. We'll see how it goes.
He did not talk about
detoxing, but wanted to give me an IV for natural meds+detoxing (he said this IV does both). I opted out, bec it has magnesium and iron in it and I am already taking multivitamins and my lab work is fine--I do not have deficits in minerals and
vitamins.
I brought up the adrenals and how I feel my thyroid med is not doing anything and how I have to keep switching doses bec it goes up and down like crazy, but he only asked me if my last blood tests were ok for thyroid and when I said they were ok, he left it at that and we started to talk about
something else.
I asked him how many patients he has treated and he said he's treated thousands of people, the office is an hour away and although he is not accepting
my insurance, he is the cheapest I could find AND he is Ilads member AND he will go to the conference in Oct.
Overall, I think he is good and I think that maybe bec it was just the first visit he can't do everything at once, so I will see how it goes down the line. It surprises me that he is not big on biofilms, his mind is not set that they exist; and if they do, he doesn't think they interfere with treatement the way I do and most of us here think of them. Also, he does not think detoxing baths with sault work--he said massages are better and to drink a lot of water during them.
He wanted to give me some probiotics and I said I am doing well with the kefir so far, so we postponed that, I may decide to get them next time. So far, I do not feel like I needed them, the Kefir is doing enough for me and I have no GI problems--hopefully it will stay that way. Not sure what to think and if I agree with him 100% on everything, but we shall see. He did not push on me anything I didn't want, although he has tons of herbals in his office.
