Well... just got back from my first ER visit. One of the things my lyme & co has caused is severe multiple chemical sensitivities. Thursday morning I was exposed to stuff that I am allergic to. I had not really managed to eat before class and couldn't function to make food and keep it down after class but later in the evening, I did eat some of my safe food. I took some of my supplements, because they normally help a little. But I kept feeling worse and worse after each supplement I took (I would take one or two, then wait an hour to see if it helps, then another, etc). I haven't been eating much more than 600 calories each day the past few weeks because my diet is so restricted. I have been having trouble sleeping because of growing vit/mineral imbalances and being forced to stop my lyme meds 6 weeks ago. As a last resort I drank some water with liquid minerals. That made me feel terrible, which is unusual. So, 2 hours later (about
11pm by now), I cooked down some apple and broke
open the capsule and mixed in some zinc. I mixed in my normal dose.
By 1 am I was getting really nauseous. By 2 I was in the bathroom fighting to stay conscious from severe gut pain. By three, I was having mini-seizures (lasted a full hour). I went to the ER. After the doctor tried to give me anti-nausea meds (I refused cuz they normally contain stuff I am allergic to, even though he asked directly following me explaining to him that I am allergic to those things!) he drew my blood, put me on a IV, and I had to get a CT scan. In the end, I was discharged with "food poisoning" and told nothing is wrong with me. I apparently shouldn't worry about
having seizures (I don't think he believed me) and uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. My lyme diease status was practically laughed off. (He didn't challenge me on it though, so I guess that is an improvement)
I have NO IDEA what I did wrong or what was different to cause this. I've never reacted like this before. I'm terrified that now that I have stopped taking my lyme meds (I can't afford it), the lyme & co is coming back worse than before. Can lyme do that?
