My husbands neice has had Lyme.  She has had 3 kids. This last one has been sick since the day she has been born.

 

Acid Reflux really bad, has stopped breathing a couple of times, and couple days ago she just got out of the hospital cause she was passing out and they say she has a mass in her lungs but doesn't look like pnumoniae.

 

So here I am again on my soapbox encourging the Mom to get the baby tested for Lyme, babesia, bartonella and Erchiliosis...

 

Today is Sunday, and will be calling Igenex for her. But does anyone know if the cost of testing is the same for a baby?

 

Thank you for any thoughts.

did the mom get tested too? did you??

tha's a good quwstion? or does Igenex ive family pack break?

I love Igenex but they do get FULLL dollor for their fees. cash.

they have no expene of having to even bill an insurance company like other doctors or labs.

they must be able to give a break once in a while.

give them a call.

I called yesterday and it is the same fee , doesn't matter if adult or baby.

 

Traveler I think the family gets real tired of me being on my soapbox about Lyme.

Beings I have it, she tested positive for it 10 years ago, and so did one of her other sisters. But her Mom, was always told that with treatment your cured...HA!

I know what you mean!!! I'm pretty sure that not only my family, but most of the small town that I live in is sick of hearing it from me!! smilewinkgrin

Just remember that you can lead a horse to water, but be careful not to beat him to death trying to make him drink!!! It sort of defeats the purpose of having drug him that far!!

i know how you feel JoJo. have you given them that book, Insights Into Lyme Disease.

I think most people what little they hear of lyme is too frightening. Expensive, torture treatment,
never goes away, makes you crazy, the testing is expensive or flawed.

It's like their ears instantly turn off when you mention it.

It's a shame. i can't get anyone in my family tested either.

The thing about IGENEX is ..first of all ..we need more than ONE lab.
second of all .... all lab work is expensive. why are the insurance companies single out IGENEX.

If we had government labs in every state to get the magnitude of this lyme problem out there we would have a panic on our hands. But then the government would be covering up the results anyway. Like they did in Stonybrook.

I believe if no one had to pay $400 to $900 for the test they would get it just like any other INFECTIOUS disease.
Plus people tend to actually not believe the results coming from stool tests or blood work that don't take insurance. But the truth is insurance doesn't take them and that is another way of implying incredibality.

Lyme people keeps a lot of insurance companies, doctors and pharmacutical companies in business by NOT diagnosing it as lyme and making up all these other diagnosis.

I totally understand what your saying Traveler. Too many listen to their general practioners.

 

Bucci, after learning and living lyme, I know that the government is too involved and using all of us as money makers. It is a crying shame.

 

If you haven't watched "Under Our Skin" it might help to get it and watch it.

 

Nothing surprises me anymore.

 

Lab 257 is another good book to read...it is a total eye opener.
