which is worse for you...lyme anger or lyme depression?

I'm not even sure lyme depression is a word but I was wondering what is worse for you, the anger or the sadness? Saturday was horrible angry. I took 2 ativan and it still didn't help so I more or less locked myself in my bedroom to be alone so I didn't say or do something I'd regret. After that passed, it's been pretty much the constant crying. I'll say hi to someone at work and they won't say hi back and I'll bust out crying, stuff like that. I just feel unable to control my emotions. Is that normal? I also feel like my mind is jumbled up, like something up there isn't firing correctly or something.  I've pretty much been crying since this morning because my son found a stray kitten this morning and my landlord won't let us keep her. Never know what will set me off. I've been on depression medication for years but never felt this uncontrollable.

So what is worse for you? The lyme rage or the lyme depression?

they are both bad.

I am sorry if I should know this, my memory is not good.

are u being treated/

have u been treated aggresively with abx with a lyme literate dr?

your post resonates with me,

my crying jags were by far the worst when I was not being treated adequately.

I hope u are being treated, I am so sorry for u. I so remember those days they did clear up once i was treated aggresively.

Oh, am so sorry you're sad. I get this way a lot. With my son being mentally disabled and on SSD AND SSDI he gets in to much trouble with the law. He breaks my heart. I cry a whole lot.

Here's one for ya, Jeannie. I was at Marcs last year in the check out line and it was a young boy my son's age ringing me up. I had to about run out of the store. Hubby says, What's up? I said, what a sweet young man and he functions well. My son is ill and cannot do those things. He has anxiety doing that and cannot! It breaks my heart.

If I see a 3 legged dog on I cry, a bug that's injured, I cry. I have more to say about my illness than I do about other suffering people and living things. Animals are another issue with me. If I see any commercial or the news stating animals were abused, I run into the other room. I cannot have that on my mind or I dwell on it.

I have a 103# lab, my best friend. He's got a good life of love and attention in our home. This summer I am leasing a horse, so you know I just love my animals sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

Know that you are not abnormal. I'm 52 and I believe this has some bearing too. I realize how fast life is going.

Hang in there! I'm here for you, ok?

Both are bad but my depression was helped by antidepressant. The anxiety and anger go hand in hand I think and just don't seem to quit. I've made a recent big step in the right direction and not socialize much anymore. I love my husband, my kids, my job, my house so I'm gonna stick with what I love. It seems as soon as I am out of my element, the anger kicks back in. I even started keeping a gratitude journal so I remind myself of how lucky I am. If I constantly feel sorry for myself, I will get no where. Try and pamper yourself but in a good way. Hope you feel better.

Depends on the day. :)
Today I am ragey. Yesterday I was sad/depressed.
I try to remember to take something for my moods, but usually it is too late by the time I think of it, lol.

Today is just a really bad bad day with the kitten and stuff. Almost feel like my world is falling apart. I envy those of you who have strong support systems. My husband was one of the first to tell me it's all in my head. All he cares about is drag racing and everything else is 2nd or worse. He couldn't wait until I got back to work for money.

As for being treated, it's more a self guided treatment. I'm on week 3 of doxy 200 mg a day. I wonder if that is why I feel like I do, coupled with a certain time of the month. I also take a multiple vitamin, 2500 mcg sublingual b12 and a vitamin D tablet a day. I still am undisclosed as my elisa came back negative and my doctor won't consider lyme. I got him to give me a month of doxy to see if it knocks the ear infection out of me.

I'm sorry for venting. Today is just a really bad day for many reasons.

i would bet that period comin up has a LOT to do with it

And maybe the doxy is getting in there.

periods were hell for me no different than a herx brought out all of the lyme symptoms.

I quit 'socializing" with the exception of telephone and net. i am supposed to meet a couple of old friends for lunch this thursday for one of their birthdays. omg i have had a row of it so my roots are like black grown out. can't get into hairdresser before then anyway even if i did have the energy. I meet them right after the dr. if i can't do it i can't but these friends are the real type they would love me no matter what, its just the expenditure of energy. trying to think of a small gift, i live in a very small town so one almost has to go out of town to get anything. Poor woeful me LOL I have felt like u make the most of what i have and i have a lot but I got to get better its so bad i don't want to wash up.

my new self prescribed treatment program will hopefully work, but i want it to work yesterday. If i remember right it took a lot of diligence and time for the afirmations and visualizations to work.

Everyone here who suffers from terrible mood swings should be checked for hypothyroidism. My endocrinologist is treating my husband and myself for hypothyroidism even though we have normal blood work. She may also be treating my son soon for the same thing. She suspected that we all have possible lyme disease or some other bacterial infection because of all our similar health issues. We also all suffer with insulin resistance and hypoglycemia. She prescribed Armour thyroid and it has helped greatly with our moods and controlling our blood sugar. She told us lyme disease can cause low thyroid, adrenal issues, digestion issues, insulin resistance and hypoglycemia. Lyme disease royally messes up the endocrine system. You should all talk to your lyme doctor or see an encocrinologist that uses the new TSH levels (.5-3'0). Taking thyroid hormone really helped control my moods. I still cry very easily but I am much happier than I have ever been.

Jeannie, I feel sorry for myself and this is bad and I know it. I asked my hubby to read Ch. 36 of "Cure Unknown" reason being is that I wanted him to know before I released my Lyme reasults, again, after the doxy. abx. over a month ago. He was quite understanding of it. Then I told him, the tests now show NEGATIVE!!! Oh,
good he says! Why didn't you tell me earlier? I said, "Because I wanted to educate you on the fact that
it means nothering, really, one way or another. As you read, Joe, the results are inaccurate and spirochettes tend to hind in the body, thus not showing up in the test!

Jeannie, one wonderful forum moderators tells me to have a good cry, and fill up the bath tub!

Then I got depressed yesterday when I took the epsom bath. Why? Well, I looked down on the floor and noticed a puddle of water. The toilet is now leaking! My hubby was not happy!

I keep trying to survive here in Ohio! Hope you'all have a wonderful day.

with me, anger and depression go hand in hand. When I get in one of my "I'm sick-n-tired of being sick-n-tired" pitty parties I tend to express my feelings in anger and rage. I really scare myself sometimes with the Lyme rage stuff, so I started seeing a psychotherapist. It's very comforting knowing that I have someone who can see if I'm truly mentally out of control.

But my most helpful drug is talking to God !! When I'm not spending time talking to God everyday, my depression and anger are much worse. There are a lot of good bible scriptures about suffering that help me to be grateful for the good things in my life. Which there are a lot of. They are just REALLY hard to see sometimes. Having Lyme and dealing with its daily regimens makes it difficult to remember thinking of others. But when we try to put others needs first, if even in thought or prayer, then we don't become so self consumed.

"Don't waste your suffering" is my new motto.

They go hand in hand for me. I might start feeling sad but then I get angry at myself for getting depressed or I get angry because I can't do the things I used to be able to do.

Or I'll be angry that my body hurts everywhere and I'll start feeling sad that constant physical pain is now my reality.

I'm pretty positive that regardless how I start out, I'll eventually end up feeling the other emotion, for example:
I start out angry and then become sad OR I start out sad and depressed and feeling sorry for myself and everyone else that suffers and I eventually get really angry.

I also have a lot of anger directed at the company that fired me because of my Lyme symptoms. That agency rarely makes me sad, rather I feel actual rage and comtempt for people who can carelessly terminate someone who is undergoing painful treatments in order to get well.

I'm sorry you are experiencing such mood swings. I understand how you feel and no one deserves this kind of life! Please hang in there!

HH, I'll come!!!  yeah I just ordered some books from Christianbook.com. (That only took me 8 hours! Ugh!)

I wish I had written down the name of it, but when I did a search on their site for Lyme, it showed that in May there's a fiction book to be released. The author had/has Lyme.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) Has been a stronghold for me this past year. ~D~
