OK - Here I go!!!

So as the title said - here I go!! I started my LD treatment with Chinese Medicine today!!!

My first thought after drinking my very first cup of tea??? OMG! EWWWWWWWWWW!!! Saying they are 'bitter herbs' doesn't really do them justice!!!!

BUT!!! This will NOT stop me! I have waited too long for someone to help me rid y body of these nasty little critters!!!

Anywya, I was really excited to finally start on my treatment and just had to share!!!

Best of luck to you! I'm very grateful that you're willing to share your personal experiences with others.

I will be following your results since I've had to discontinue my 3 oral antibiotics for the 3rd time since August 2010.

My liver enzymes are slightly elevated, and my LLMD is now under scrutiny -- so who knows if that individual will even be prescribing meds anything longer than IDSA guidelines in future. The LLMD was treating people with IV and oral antibiotics for as long as necessary (sometimes 2+ years) previously and had some real success doing so.

Although I've been unwell for over a decade, much of LD is still new to me. How people decide between the Cowden and Marshall protocols or other approaches is simply too mind-boggling for me at this time -- even though my cognitive abilities do seem to be improving somewhat.

I find condensed text difficult to read as well -- hence the generous spacing for you and others. The small font size when composing posts is a bit challenging too but this wasn't intended to be a whine session -- but rather to wish you all the best.

Day 4!!! So far so good, but I do believe that even for herbs there is that first few days of actually feeling better before all the real fun begins!!

Welcome to our forum!! I am so sorry to hear of your issues with LD, but I am glad you found us! I hope that you will find us to be a caring, understanding and helpful group!

Once I realized that I was not going to be to tolerate the abx treatments, and I started looking into the 'natural' protocols, my head was a spinnin' too!! For me it all came down to what I had already had experience with, what I could afford, the distance I would have to travel potentially, and what my brain could figure out.

I finally realized that acupuncture and herbs were the direction I needed to head off in. It has taken 9 months to build my body up to the point that both my practitioner and I believe it can handle treatment for tick-borne infections, but I have finally made it!!

If you haven't already, please do read the thread at the top of the forum titled "New to Lyme?...Start here!", as it is packed with really helpful info that our members here have put together along with some really great links! Learning as much as you can about this affliction will help you make better treatment choices and better understand what is going on with your body.

We also have a good search function here that can help you narrow down posts to find answers to your questions. The archives here have got to be HUGE!!!

Our founder has also just started a blog!! You can find a 'button at the very top of the page that says "Blog". If you will click on that, it will take you right to his blog! It has only just gotten started, but it should be quite interesting!!
