Had my first major meltdown in a long long time today.  Husband had a nervous breakdown on Monday.  Awaiting lyme testing.  Just can't take taking care of myself, kids and now husband too.  Love them all to death but I feel like I'm fried.  Gotta pick up and move on as always and make more me time to unwind I guess.   Refuse to backslide!!  Just worked too hard to get to feeling better.

 Must be in the air today. I spent most of the day crying. My husband has Lyme too.He seems to be handling it better than me. I cry all the tine, and have become afraid of just about everything. I notice on these days, that my skin issues are much worse. Itchy, crawly ! My husband does'nt have this as bad as I do . I tested postive for some coinfections and he did not. Dr changed my meds to augmentin.She also started me on A Bart. I am wondering if thses symptoms, and the crying and feeling burdensome and worhtless are a herx reaction to the new meds. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I am such a sadsack!

Do you mind if I ask how you believe you were both infected? Everyone thinks I am crazy for thinking we could BOTH bet the same rare disease but yet I read so much about husband and wives and family members having it.
Weird thing is I was fine all day and then just hit a wall about 4 o'clock. Augmentin huh? I don't remember that being one of the recommended meds. For which coinfection? and what is A Bart. I am losing my mind today so sorry so many questions. I always get herx reactions when changing or adding new meds and the herx are always different. Lemon water really helps me.

Augmentin was substituted with Amoxicicillin. A Bart is an herbal by Byron White. It is used to treat bartonella. I am also on Mepron for babesia. As far as how we both got infected. I believe I had a tick imbedded in my chest. I though it was a thorn from a Cleome flower. As for my husband????? We live in Rural Maryland. Deer population is huge. We own a 2 acre farmette and are both avid yard and garden people.Who knows how long he has been infected. He has complained of joint pain for years and thought it was from his cholesteral meds.I will try the lemon water tomorrow. As for tonight, I am pooped out after running out of Xanax and having to wait all day to go have it refilled.LONG STORY...... I just don't get why we both are so itchy and crawly . Do you ever get those sensations? My LLMD says it's from the bartonella, but my husband tests negative for coinfections.

I don't think amoxicillin is strong enough but maybe in combo with the mepron. I am also an avid gardener and my husband and I also LOVE to be outdoors as much as we can. My husband's only symptoms so far other than occasional neck pain, swollen gland, insomnia, calf cramps is sudden onset of anxiety. We both take xanax and it does help take the edge off. As far as the crawly sensations, I do get them. I always swear something is crawling on my somewhere, whether it be my head, my upper arm, my leg. Its so freaking bizarre this disease isn't it. I do also have bartonella. My LLMD said that not many bartonella tests come back positive. She usually diagnoses by symptoms.

The anxiety and the crawling sensations and leg cramps are horrible. Sometimes in the night I have to stand up to ease the cramps. This is a horrible disease.Do you guys remember your tick bites?I get insomnia around once a month. My husband never gets it! he sleeps really well with his C Pap machine for apnea.I was on Ceftin and bactrim. If i keep feeling this way I am going to voice a complaint at my next visit. My husband just started treatment this month. I have been treating since November. I have babesia also , and the Doc says you have to rid the body od that before you can treat the other infections.

Springsjean - so sorry about your husband and everything you are going through. I have meltdowns too and at least now I know that Lyme is the cause - so different from the way I was before all this. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you :)
