 Both my husband and I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease. The major problem aside from the tiredness and joint pain , has been itchy crawly skin. I am being treated for babesia, bartonella and Lyme. My husband has no co infections but is cdc positve through I genex labs. Does anyone else share these symptoms? What do you do for it? Thanks Lis

Hi Clems Mom,

Oh that itchy crawly skin! Not only did it drive me crazy, but it drove everyone around me crazy. "Are you SURE there is nothing crawling on my back?" I kept on asking everybody!!

If it helps any, it is a sign the medicine is working and for me it went away with time as my treatment continued.

The itchy, crawly skin is usually neurologic, not in the skin.
I would like to suggest using the detox bath as described in the "New to Lyme?" thread. I've always been amazed with what all it can help with! Don't forget to do the dry skin brushing, it's really important. You don't have to rough up your skin, it's supposed to be a gentle thing. The NeuroAntitox from Jernigan made a huge difference in this for me. At one point I felt like I was being eaten alive by bugs. Now that's all gone.

I have crawling sensations but thankfully no itching! :) It is not the meds as I just started doxy 6 weeks ago and had the sensations way before then.

I think it's caused by the Neurotoxins associated to Lyme. In my case I had them before but it was mild. After I went on abx it got really severe. I assumed it was because my body couldn't remove the neurotxins fast enough and it accumulated and caused symptoms.

It's totally gone now
