can someone please help me....below are my results, im hoping its not lymes of course :( but still no answers ..... any thoughts, any help is appreciated, anxiety is thru the roof.

66 KDA Reactive H (IGG) Interpretation IGG negative

23 KDA Reactive H, 41 KDA Reactive H (IGM) Interpretation IGM positive

So, 2 positive bands on the IGM and 1 positive band on the IGG.

oh sorry this is all greek to me, did i not provide that? arent the numbers below the bands?

on the IGG 66 was reactive and for IGM 23 and 41 were reactive, does that help?

Hi Neurogurl,

Sorry I didn't read your initial post properly.

As I understand it the bands 23 and 41 are specific to Lyme Disease, 66 not so much.

If you look at the thread "New to Lyme?..." There is a section on how to interpret your test results.

While you didn't have a lot of bands positive, you had the ones for Lyme Disease, so that is significant.

You are going get treatment, right?

Band 41 has been very confusing to me. I have read that it is usually the first to show up with lyme but also that it is not lyme-specific. I don't understand if it is not lyme specific why it would be one of the starred Igenex bands. There is a lot of conflicting research regarding band 41 and just adds to the confusion about this disease.

Band 41 signifies the tail of the spirochete, that is why is can also be positive for things like 1 certain dental infection (also a spirochetal infection) and Syphilis (the other Great Imitator & spirochetal infection).

That's the reason it isn't considered "Lyme-specific" - because it could be from one of the other two infections.

Band 41 is the one and only band that was positive for me when I was 1st tested- back in the beginning of 2007. My LLMD surmised correctly that I had all of the co-infections as well as Lyme. The reason he gave - and I realized was correct a bit later- for my not testing positive other than the band 41 was that my body had been infected for so long (40 years at that point) that it no longer recognized the bacteria as invaders, so they wouldn't attack. After several years of research reading I discovered the science behind that explanation. It's all quite fascinating to me!
