Thank you all!

I just wanted to thank everyone in the group. Shortly after joining this group someone encouraged me to join another as well. In this group, everyone is allowed an opinion and we don't get mad at one another for having them. Here I feel like it is safe to voice my feelings and viewpoint on things. I have dropped the other group because I was outright attacked for having chosen to see a certain doctor who is highly respected in ILADS and for liking him. One member in particular was just downright nasty about the whole thing and went into a rampage. I have noticed her doing this to others and others leaving the group, too. So, again, thank you all. It is so important that we have somewhere to come to where there are people who can relate to what we are going through. Where we can vent, share our experiences, share our emotions, etc., while feeling safe.

Unfortunately the person who attacked is the moderator, so there is no one to reign her in.

And I can understand the emotions. We're all dealing with a lot, or have dealt with it. The response was over the top where she started "yelling" about him in caps, calling him a moron, saying he is not respected in Lyme circles who are really in the know (even though he helped write the ILADS treatment guidelines) etc., after I had posted about a growing lesion in my brain having gone away after 4 months of abx and had recommended my doc in FL who is working with him. It was quite a negative response to a positive posting.

I can handle some criticism and some confrontation, but she violently opposes my viewpoint. If I don't agree with someone, I just don't post unless they are asking for other viewpoints. I think everyone has a right to believe whatever they want, even if I don't agree at all. It's her group. But I have to deal with enough opposition in trying to handle the Lyme. I don't need to have a constant stream of it from a group where I am supposed to be getting support.

Just wanted to let everyone in the group know I appreciate them, and I really appreciate the moderators for diffusing things when needed :)

I think Achievinggrace said it pretty well, so I won't add anything to that, other than one of the requirements here to be a Mod is that they are tolerant of others choices! We just try to diffuse things and try to caution members not to do anything that will harm them.

If anyone here ever feels like they are being attacked without cause, please email one of the Mods!!!! If we see that you are being attacked, we will[/] put an end to it!! I have had to deal with that several times.
