So this last winter my husband thought it would be a good idea to go on a skiing vacation to celebrate my feeling better. Nice idea, how could I refuse? I figured even if I couldn't get it together to get on my snowboard, it would still be nice to hang out in a beautiful place surrounded by happy, healthy people.
The first day I was able to play on the slopes for a couple hours and a little more the next day, though my body was very sore, not strong and I could feel the high altitude. The third day I felt great. I went further, farther and faster and felt, well, on top of the world!!
And then, all of a sudden, up there on the mountain, I simply forgot how to snowboard! One moment speeding along, next moment mentally paralyzed. So I sat down and waited because there was no other way down. Then it came back to me and I scooted off.
The funny part of the story? Who in their right mind would turn around from this and go back up the mountain????!!!! So if you are skiing down a slope some day and see a little old woman sitting in a snowbank laughing until tears are flowing -- that's why!
Have a great day!
