HI Peggster!
Welcome to our forum!! I am so sorry to hear of what you have been through!! I am glad however that you found us!! I'm sure you will find us to be a caring, helpful and understanding group!
If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,
"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information and informative links that have been put together by our members here! We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge!
May I ask what you meant by "strange flu x 2'? Did you mean you've had strange flu-like symptoms twice?
Testing for TBI's (Tick-borne infections) is not accurate, giving many false negatives, especially for those who have been infected for a while. The tests rely on the body being able to mount up an attack and produce antibodies. The problem is that Lyme is an immune suppressor. The other thing is that there are 100 different strains of Lyme Disease and only just a few are actually tested for. This goes for the other tick-borne infections as well - poor testing and a lot more strains out there than are being tested for!
I'm not sure how many of our LLMD's have experience with treating mold illnesses, but I would do some careful interviews to find out. I have the name of one LLMD in Georgia if you would like to email me (just click the little envelope under my name), I'd be happy to share his name and contact info.
For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:
