I'm having one of those rare clear-headed days and trying really hard to learn more about Lyme and what's going on in my body during treatment. My doctor isn't really addressing detoxing, so I'm kind of on my own. I feel so much more comfortable with these things once I can understand them, but I'm having trouble finding any actual research on Lyme toxins. I'm basically just looking for one article that says "we have evidence that when spirochetes die, they produce toxins that cause symptoms." Does any one know of any research on Lyme toxins, or really, toxins in general?

Personally I think detoxing Is a very important step in our treatment. Ive been told by my doctor that alot of us can't effectivly get rid of toxins floating around in our system. Because we can't get rid of these toxins it basically backs up and circulates thoughout our bloodstream over and over again. I really think thats the main reason why we experience such harsh symptoms, it's
the toxins from the die off that make us really ill.

I'm actually on a colon cleanse product thats designed to help clean your system out but there is alot of other ways to detox!

There si a wonderful article called the Townsend letter about toxins and ammonia. If you google "Lyme toxins the primary cause of your symptoms" you can read this. I am not promoting the products or doctor. Just make sure you read the whole article and scroll past the ads. It is many pages long and I believe really explains a lot. Hope this helps. It helped me and I still go back and read it now and then.
