I have an alcohol story that might make you think twice about drinking. My daughter recently got married. My husband and I decided that we wanted to take a nice vacation since I'd been sick for nearly three years and wasn't able to do much and was finally feeling better. The wedding was over, so yeah, lets go let loose and have a good time.
So, off to Jamaica we go about five weeks ago. Well, on our fourth day of the trip, I wasn't able to find any water. I was worried about drinking the local water. Although it's probably fine, I was still worried. We went on our excursions for the day zip lining and floating down a river on a tube which was really fun. We get back, have a few drinks, go to dinner and then have a few more drinks. On our way back to the room, I fell or passed out...to be honest, I'm not sure which, and broke three of my upper front teeth. Not just chipped....broke almost completely to the gum line. Back home early and off to the dentist I go. I had to go and see an oral surgeon in order to repair one of teeth for a crown so that I can keep my natural tooth rather than getting an implant which I really did not want. I still have my temporaries (which look really good surprisingly), and go back to the oral surgeon and then back to the dentist for fitting for my new crowns. I think that I was seriously dehydrated, it was hot and humid and the alcohol combined make for the perfect storm.
This really has thrown me for a loop and needless to say, I'm afraid to even drink a sip of alcohol now. Also, I started my new meds right after I returned and they are making me ultra dizzy. I figure I don't need a drink on top of the dizziness. Heaven forbid I fall and break more teeth!
The weird thing is, I didn't even break a nail when I fell...just three teeth. Not fun.
