Hi! As my subject says, I'm looking for a LLMD. I live about an hour north of Harrisburg. So far I'm only suspecting I may have Lymes, haven't had any tests yet, and was afraid I'd be wasting time and money going to my family Dr. I have had thyroid tests, ekg's and stress tests, test for rhumatoid arthritis. I did find one about an hour from here, but he doesn't take our insurance and it's very expensive. So I'm just exploring options right now, of which I'm afraid there aren't many.

It may be tough to find one that does take your insurance. I live in northeastern PA and couldn't find one within reasonable distance who did. Fortunately though, my treatment is composed mainly of oral antibiotics which are covered by my insurance. But the office visits are paid out of pocket.

I know some members here have lists or contacts of people who have lists for LLMDs all over the place. Perhaps you'll have some luck in your area. I had an EKG and echo, tests for arthritis and thyroid, and all were negative. Even my lyme test by my family doc was negative - but he was lyme-friendly and suspected it anyway so he recommended the LLMD that I see now. I was just diagnosed with it a few days ago.

That's what I was hoping, to at least start with one that is at least somewhat lyme friendly. The one LLMD that I did call said they would be willing to order blood work at my regular doctor and start with that. But his first office visit is $850.00, and $125.00 a visit after that. Is that a normal price range? Do you know how long you've had Lyme's?
