I just had a realization that my symptoms started becoming debilitating in June, shortly after I received the 1st 2 Hepatitis B vaccines (I am supposed to get #3 next month but will opt out of it at this point). I had to get this vaccine for work but I never would have agreed to it if I knew I had Lyme. I can think back to minor symptoms I had before the vaccines, so I am pretty sure I already had Lyme but now I'm starting to wonder. If the vaccines played any part in this, I am hoping that they only exacerbated the Lyme, rather than brought on a whole new illness. I can't believe I didn't make this connection until now. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of people find that vaccinations, illness, injury, surgery, stress, traumatic events and even bereavement can cause Lyme to become full-blown. Up until that time your immune system was able to keep up with the infection.

I guess I would ask for your Lyme doctor's opinion on getting the third vaccine. Perhaps it is not necessary or even a good idea if you are getting treated at the moment, or it might be worse not to finish off the vaccination course.

Once you are finished your Lyme treatment, it will be important to keep the above list in mind in order to control and re-emergence of the disease.

Very interesting.

I am hesitant to get the 3rd dose, but I'll definitely run this by my Lyme doctor.
