How much does a LLMD doctor appointment cost if your going for diagnosis??

I see if you are already positive or diagnosed the treatment is quite costly. How much do I need to get together to go to my first appointment with no diagnosis? I do no have a LLMD yet i sent in the request and am waiting for the list but I want an idea. I saw some staggering figures in some searches on google. I am looking around the house for things to sell because I NEED this testing. We just had to put a new furnace in the house ($3000) and we have not had credit cards for at least 3 years. So I need to raise this money and need to know if its $500 ish $1000 ish etc. just to get the testing and possible diagnosis Thanks for any info...

I am just being impatient lol! When i get the list and can call a place i am sure they will tell me, but i wondered if there was some sort of ballpark so i can line up some work for an amount i might need.

Hi KayC,

There is a range in what LLMDs charge. A good basic quote for an initial appointment would be around $900. That would include $600 for the Igenex testing.

You may be able to submit the bill to your insurance company for a partial reimbursement.

Prepare a thousand for initial consultation and lab test only. meds and supplements are another story. Prepare a thousand again them if you dont have insurance. This disease is literally going to kill you physical, emotional, financial

Mine was $300. At first that seemed too little to include the testing, but despite being out-of-network for my insurance, they did indeed pay for the bulk of the lab work that was sent in to them by the doctor's office. Now I pay about $200 per visit after the initial consult because the doctor's office itself does not take my insurance.

I found the LLMD i want to go to... He is in PA. Surprisingly pretty close, about 30 mins. He takes insurance too but the strange thing is that my insurance is from ohio called mutual of ohio, they serve pa as well but its called something different first plus or something like that and he takes that insurance. So its the same company but different state branches. Wonder if there is any possible way he would be covered with me going over the state line. Guess I have to call and ask. Tomorrow i am going to request the western blot from my rheumy because what could it hurt, some percentage of a chance it could show. I need to go regardless of the result, but if i knew I had it I know my family would help me with cost, I know they would. Unfortunately just to go for testing they would just think I was "at it again" and you know crazy :( Me and Dr. Google.

I am so glad to hear that you found an LLMD that close to you!!

I agree that you should call and talk with the Doc's billing dept and ask about your insurance - no need to have any surprises once you get there!
