Well I should have said that I may not have been able to test positive no matter who was testing for some of that time - even my LLMD told me there was no reason to spend money on a test at first. He said it was because I had been infected for such a long time (37 yrs at that point) without any treatment.
Lyme bacteria bring hiding from the immune system to an whole new level! That's why it not only is being called the "New Great Imitator" after syphilis, but is so hard to detect in those that have been infected for very long. It can not only hide but change forms as well.
The other thing is that even the CDC has stated that diagnosis is supposed to be clinical - based on symptoms and that testing should be used to
back up the clinical diagnosis...not the other way around. It's a shame how much confusion there is about
this!!
I would suggest that you check out the symptom list here in Dr. Burrascano's "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease" (
betterhealthguy.com/joomla/images/stories/PDF/lymdxrx2008-october.pdf). Don't be afraid to read through this wonderful paper, as it is very well written for the layman.
When you get to the symptoms list, if you have more than just a few -lots of us have a majority of the symptoms listed, then you most likely have Lyme. Of course this doesn't take into account other TBI's that you could have that are causing symptoms as well.
I wish I could just give a straight,
simple answer on this stuff, but these infections are so darn complex!!!
