Mold is a real issue. BUT, BEWARE of all the "mold inspectors" out there - many, many of them are just looking to scare you out of your money. Seriously. One possible way to guard against this is to get a mold tester who has absolutely no affiliation with a mold mitigating company....probably hard to find. But, these days, mold mitigation is big business and a lot of it is not above-board. Be a SMART consumer on this and do not fall for the shysters out there! Okay - off my soapbox.
Plus, Bucci, I do not think the genetic anomaly is an INABILITY to detox mold but rather a retarded or diminished ability to detox mold (and some have more of a problem detoxing it than others regardless of the gene) - if you had a complete inability to detox mold, you'd be dead in less than a week as mold exists everywhere.... And, just be careful about
shifting all the blame to mold. From my research it seems that mold is an issue with Lyme sufferers but perhaps no more than opportunistic viruses (mine is EBV) and any other thing that takes advantage of an immuno-suppressed body caused by Lyme. Good topic, but I doubt it's a panacea cure for most with Lyme. As I have progressed towards getting better, I went down many rat holes convinced I had found the "answer" only to find it was either not an answer or only one piece of the big picture puzzle that I was putting together. Mold is indeed one of those pieces of the puzzle for many with Lyme.
