The spinal tap is not a good test for Lyme. Is the neurologist looking to rule out any other problems?

Would it make sense to treat your Lyme disease and see if that resolves your headache problem, as it is a common symptom?

suggests it. i dont need ruling out, although he will think i do. on any account i will not have it done and if no encehpyl then i will hunt for

a dr to work long distance with Dr Shoe in Md. head pain so bad i am dizzy and nausas from it. makes my eyes hurt so bad i cant open them due to light sens. and sounds... amplifiedddddd. you guys know what i mean. last treatment in 2002 took them away mostly. i have been using imitrex to help. but doc says no more imitrex,daily use can cause blind. oops.

Ever since got on heparin shots I never get

Also, i never got a lumbar but went through a
all kinds of neuro testing at the big Neuro center
In Tucson.
They were so far off with all their poking and blood work
And costly imaging stuff it was disturbing.

So many doctors had me on an emotional roller coaster with
Worry and anticipation.

The torture of lyme is the doctors who
run all their testing and come up with nothing.

The day I walked into the tick borne specialist
was my first experience of being in competant
Hands.

Sometimes I wonder WHY half my life had been
wasted before I was diagnosed correctly.

I hope you find an LLMD or LLND
Or Tick Borne Specialist.
And investigate the possibility of mold infection.

Did you do the HLA genetic testing?
Stool test for parasite?

There are a lot less invasive andless traumatic
tests.

If you don't want it done - don't get it done! No one can force you. I was very young and my mother very confused when it was suggested I do a spinal tap to look for Lyme/rule out MS. No one told me it wasn't a reliable test.

However, if you do decide to do it - I can tell you that while the idea is scary, miss needle-ophobe over here had a surprisingly easy time with it. The worst part for me was that they neglected to tell me I wouldn't be able to get up or walk for 4 hours afterward - not an ideal scenario when you go into it with a full bladder!
