wake up with one in the morning and go to bed with one at night and then wake up with one.....

my doc just increased my dose of doxy to 200 mg and I"m wondering if I should just go back to taking it once a day? no headaches then.

thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry about the headaches, it certainly makes it hard to function.

Are you using any remedies?

It would be good if you could increase your detoxing regimen. In particular, there are preparations to deal with neurotoxins that could really help.

You are on such a low dose of doxy, I would hate to see you have to take a step back. You want to kill these bacteria, not tickle them to death!!!

no detoxing rightn ow, justnever had the extra money. This paycheck though Iplan to get a few things

reservatrol(my doc suggested) not sure if there's other herbs I should try

I'm going to try the epsom/peroxide bath...but does the peroxide discolor skin?

I really want to try the footbaths...does it really help with the headaches?

everyone dealing with lyme says i am taking such a low dose>my dh is freaking out and saying everything he's read says that it is a very high dose :/

No, that is not high.  My daughter is on 500, twice a day...plus tindamax and iv rocephin, and mepron for babs.  She also has terrible headaches 24/7.  She also adds grated giner to the epsom baths....it is supposed to allow the salt to work better.  These help her a little - not much.  Maybe doing more than she can feel.  The best thing she found for her headaches  is saraparilla by herb pharm.  It doesnt take them away, but makes them bearable.  It is supposed to bind nuerotoxins.  It is fairly cheap - you can get it at sprouts or on line.  I would only take herb pharm - as others have tried other brands that have made their headache worse - just start off slow and build if you dont have a her reaction.  My daughter takes 40 drops, 3-4 times a day.  I have heard you should take a week off every month.

I'm not sure if the Doxy has much to do with the headaches.. I have been in your shoes for about 4 years now.. They were treating me for cluster headaches long before I was diagnosed.. When I was on Iv Rocephin my headaches went away.. I don't have them every day now buit still quite often.. God bless, Kevin

 Ps I was taking 400mg of Doxy till it started making me lose my lunch.

If the headaches just came from increasing meds, it is probably a herx and detoxing will help tremendously. I had headaches for years before treating the lyme so I always wondered if it was caused by the lyme or the toxins as my body was trying to fight off the lyme. But they are gone now.

Your dose of doxy is not high at all. I was on doryx, bactrim, amantine and roxy at the same time. But everyone is different and your body will react differently. If you haven't already done so, I would strongly recommend keeping a daily diary of symptoms so you know what helps and what happened when.

Also, have you tried peppermint oil for headaches. My LLMD just recommended it to my husband. You buy it in like Whole Foods store and rub a small amount on your temples. It smells wonderful too.

Drinking lemon water is a cheap and effective way of detoxing and has really helped me over the years.
