Hello again

Hi all,

I think you might remember me from last summer, when I was advocating a mushroom supplement I was taking. Well, regardless of the efficacy of the supplement or supplements, I stopped paying attention to my health, took on too much work, play and stress. I also managed to get bit again Back when I thought I was better, I think I wanted to disassociate from my Lyme self, so I behaved as if I didn't have Lyme and took risks that in retrospect were incredibly stupid and somewhat manic.Needless to say I came plummeting back to earth over the Fall.

The ticks were so bad on the Cape last summer and through the Fall so many people were getting bit, it is frightening. We made a difficult family decision and pulled up stakes and moved to CA. There is Lyme here but getting bit is much less likely.

Through buying a desk on Craig's list, we stumbled on a very good Lyme doctor north of LA. I am improving incrementally. I hope I am smart enough to recognize that when Lyme symptoms aren't present there is a likelihood that some form of the spirochetes are. I have to manage my health accordingly.
I have been sheepishly watching the post. I think I was ashamed because I feel that I got healthy and threw it away. I don't know what the reality is. My heart goes out to you all in the throws of hard core symptoms. It is such a hard place to be, forcing oneself to go through the motions of life when it is so hard to see the point in it. I think Yazzer put it best in response to an earlier post. I don't remember his exact words but they were profound and succinct. There is that tiny glimmer of hope you have to grasp onto no matter how faint it is, then things get better, slowly, but they get better.

Hi all, thank you for your wonderful feedback. Sorry to take so long to respond, my work is my email inbox and replies of the heart get put to the back burner. Acheivinggrace, thank you so much for the time and emotional support you put in your response. I can't tell you how much it means. WWJD20 I hear you; moderation is not my strength in any way. I have a tendency to go all out. I need to learn moderation because if I don't I believe this will be a chronic illness if i do. I really believe I can live symptom free. I don't think there will ever be a time that I won't have to manage the illness.

I just had a conversation with my wife and I asked her how it could be possible that extreme stress could trigger symptoms so quickly. She looked it up in her anatomy and physiology book and sure enough stress does horrible things to your immune and nervous symptoms. Maybe that is why our flare up cycles are so hard to break out of. There is so much stress associated with being "non-functional" that we are fighting the stress as much as the spirochetes.
